Les Aspres

Numerous villages in the hills around Thuir. A region of fruit trees, cork forests and vines.

Les Aspres

Les Aspres covers quite a large area divided into low rolling countryside and higher forested hills. Agriculture in the lower part is a mixture of vines and fruit trees while the higher areas are a mixture of forestry and livestock. The main town is Thuir. The lower villages are popular with commuters who want to live rurally and the higher ones for their solitude.

Positives

Well-located for access to Perpignan, the coast and Spain. Thuir is a very attractive town. The villages in the lower part are popular with families for being quiet, with easy access to the countryside, while having good schools and sporting facilities.

Considerations

Public transport isn't very good. Some villages lack local amenities.
