Rugged and dramatic countryside featuring old towns and remote villages, most based around viticulture and winemaking. There are no large towns in this area and property prices are relatively low.

Dramatic countryside. Low property prices and peaceful villages. Access the Aude and Ariege departments.

Considerations

Some of the villages have no amenities and some are poor with high unemployment. Relatively distant from the coast, Spain and skiing.
