About this place ...
Vinca
A large village at the Perpignan end of the Conflent valley in a nice setting opposite a large reservoir and having its own large swimming lake with picnic area and café which is very popular in summer.
In the old centre are a handful of café-restaurants and some local shops.
The nearby villages of Joch, Rigarda and Finistret are also worth considering, although they don't have the amenities of Vinca.
Positives
Considerations
Well located on the fast road between Perpignan and the Ski resorts. The lake for swimming. Good for hiking.
For all its positives, it's a relatively poor village. Not great for cycling as no cycle path to avoid the busy highway.
